We are very pleased to announce the recent promotion of a new partner effective as of 1 November 2023.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr Nina Gräfin von Borries as a new partner with effect from 1 November 2023. With Nina von Borries, we are gaining a partner who is both a solicitor admitted in England and Wales and a German lawyer with more than twenty years of experience in shipping litigation. The addition of Nina to the partnership further expands our English law practice and emphasises our commitment and foothold in the international maritime industry.

Before joining ERG, Nina worked for almost ten years as an in-house lawyer at Skuld in Hamburg. She began her career as a lawyer after studying in London at the London law firms Richards Butler and Bentleys, Stokes & Lowless, Nina advises on all aspects of shipping and marine insurance disputes with a particular focus on dry shipping litigation, especially under English law. This includes disputes arising from charter and shipbuilding contracts, bunker disputes and commodity disputes. She has been listed as an arbitrator with the GMAA since 2016. Nina’s transactional experience also includes the negotiation of all types of charter and other maritime related contracts, such as shipbuilding and sale and purchase agreements.
