Christina Kertscher advises on both bilateral and syndicated financing and supports lenders and borrowers alike in the legal implementation of complex financing structures. Her focus is particularly on providing legal advice on loan agreements, drafting and negotiating security agreements, and advising on the provision of collateral. In addition, Christina Kertscher advises banks, investment funds, and shipping companies on the restructuring of maritime financing and sale-and-leaseback transactions.
Another focus of her work is out of court and judicial enforcement and defense of claims relating to shipping law. Christina Kertscher has extensive experience in disputes arising from charter agreements, sea freight contracts, and shipbuilding contracts.
Christina Kertscher also advises on all legal issues relating to the acquisition, registration, sale, and flagging in and out of seagoing vessels, inland waterway vessels, and yachts. She coordinates such transactions from the initial legal support to the registration and handover of the vessel and has experience with both national and international sale and purchase transactions.
Christina Kertscher also advises on corporate and commercial law issues under German law and on the formation, restructuring, and dissolution of offshore companies.
Since June 2025, Christina Kertscher has been serving as a volunteer compliance manager on the board of WISTA Germany e.V.
