COMMUNITY

 

Giving effect to legislation to protect the marine environment is part of our daily work. As a law firm with a focus on the maritime industry we take this into account when e.g. negotiating ship finance agreements and when advising our clients on shipbuilding contracts as well as agreements on the installation of ballast water treatment systems and coating of their ships' hulls.

For quality education, at ERG we regularly host internships of high-school and university students from all over the world. In order to further contribute to education, we encourage our partners and associates to engage in teaching at public and private universities.

Therefore, we are committed to create a climate of respect, tolerance and openness among all employees and partners. We view adherence to our policies against discrimination, harassment and bullying and our Health and Safety Policy as key to this.

We believe the success and good reputation of a law firm are based on the mutual trust that exists between the firm, its employees and the people with whom they interact (clients, public authorities, experts and the public in general). We want to satisfy this trust in all respects, and the purpose of our Code of Ethics and Business Conduct is to strengthen it.
 

SUSTAINABILITY

 

ERG is focused on ensuring our business operations are more sustainable. In accordance with our Climate Action Plan we encourage our office colleagues to use bicycles and public transport to commute between home and work or travel to external meetings. Instead of domestic flights the employees and partners are encouraged to travel by train. Instead of disposing of technology prematurely, we shall aim at repairing it. If disposal cannot be avoided, disposal must be in line with applicable rules and regulations.
 
Furthermore, we are continuously working towards a reduction of energy and paper consumption. This includes investing in and installing energy efficient IT equipment. In developing our digital working environment, we have already achieved a significant reduction of paper usage and will continue to progress this.
