Dr. Carolin Schmeding

Expertise

Carolin Schmeding has many years of experience in the struc­tured financing of ships, containers and other maritime goods. Carolin Schmeding has advised on numerous construction and long-term finan­cings of seagoing vessels as well as struc­tured container finan­cings. In the context of the restruc­turing of maritime finan­cings, Carolin Schmeding also advises on insol­vency law issues.

One of her main areas of practice is advising clients on corporate law in connection with share and company transfers as well as corporate restruc­tu­rings. Carolin Schmeding advises investors from Germany and abroad on M& A transac­tions and accom­panies their parti­ci­pation in companies in the German shipping industry.

Carolin Schmeding has been a lecturer in Maritime Law at the HSBA – Hamburg School of Business Adminis­tration from 2014 until 2020.
