Arunkumar Gunase­karan specia­lizes in advocacy and advisory work in a wide range of shipping, inter­na­tional trade and inter­na­tional commercial law disputes. His main areas of work include shipping conten­tious and non-conten­tious (including advising on shipbuilding and ship sale) cases, general commercial litigation and inter­na­tional arbitration matters.

He has acted in several inter­na­tional arbitra­tions under various arbitration body rules. He has repre­sented several clients in ship sale and purchase and is known for struc­turing complex ship sale and purchase deals.

Having worked in Singapore for several years, he is reputed for his first-hand knowledge of the Asian market and for having a wide network of legal profes­sionals and business personnel from different industries.

He is a dual qualified lawyer in England and Wales as well as India and as such he can advise on Indian law in addition to English law.
