Thomas Garbe advises banks in the structured financing of ships which also includes special finance models outside Germany. He has been the legal advisor in many national and international fleet acquisitions, including the privatisation and redevelopment of fleets owned by East European governments. Thomas Garbe has also been involved in advising national and international banks with major German real estate deals.

Short Biography

Thomas Garbe studied law and philosophy at the universities of Kiel and Freiburg. He started his career after his graduation in law in 1985 with Deutsche Bank AG, where he worked in different legal and credit departments as well as in the ship finance division. Thomas Garbe joined the firm in 1996 as a partner.
