Sven Deters works in ship financing. His work involves German as well as international financing of ships or fleets, whether newbuildings or existing vessels. He is also involved in the registration of ships and ship mortgages with registries worldwide. A third core area of his work is advising on the structuring and conception of closed-end investment funds set up for the financing of seagoing vessels. Further to the actual ship finance and registration work, Sven Deters advises on questions of corporate law.

Short biography

Following his military duty with the German Navy, Sven Deters studied law at the university of Kiel. He graduated in 2000 and came to work for our firm for one year. Sven Deters then continued his studies at the university of Cape Town, South Africa, where he was awarded in 2002 the degree of LL.M. in Shipping Law and he returned to our firm the same year.
Since 2009 Sven Deters is partner of the firm.
